چکیده

In the current work, fine-grained dual-phase, high-entropy ceramics (Ti0.2Zr0.2Hf0.2Nb0.2Ta0.2)B2-(Ti0.2Zr0.2Hf0.2Nb0.2Ta0.2)C with different phase ratios were prepared from powders synthesized via a boro/carbothermal reduction approach, by adjusting content of B4C and C in precursor powders. Phase compositions, densification, microstructure, mechanical properties investigated correlated. Due to combination pinning effect average grain size (?0.5?1.5 ?m) dual-phase was roughly one order magnitude smaller than previously reported literature. The had residual porosity ranging 0.3 3.2 % upon sintering SPS material about 18 vol% boride exhibited highest Vickers hardness (24.2±0.3 GPa) fracture toughness (3.19±0.24 MPam1/2).

Ultra-Fine Grained Dual-Phase Steels

This paper provides an overview on obtaining low-carbon ultra-fine grained dual-phase steels through rapid intercritical annealing of cold-rolled sheet as improved materials for automotive applications. A laboratory processing route was designed that involves cold-rolling of a tempered martensite structure followed by a second tempering step to produce a fine grained aggregate of ferrite and ca...

Processing of Fine-Grained DP300/600 Dual Phase Steel from St12 Structural Steel by the Thermo-Mechanical Processing of Cold Rolling and Intercritical Annealing

The effect of microstructural refinement and intercritical annealing on the mechanical properties and work-hardening response of a low carbon St12 steel was studied. It was revealed that intercritical annealing of the ferritic-pearlitic sheet results in the formation of a coarse-grained DP microstructure with discrete martensite islands normally formed in place of pearlitic colonies, which resu...

High Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels

Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...

Nearly full-dense and fine-grained AZO:Y ceramics sintered from the corresponding nanoparticles

Aluminum-doped zinc oxide ceramics with yttria doping (AZO:Y) ranging from 0 to 0.2 wt.% were fabricated by pressureless sintering yttria-modified nanoparticles in air at 1,300°C. Scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, a physical property measurement system, and a densimeter were employed to characterize the precursor nanoparticles and th...
